Fostering interDSA collaborations: IFUDSA hosts UADS.

With their strong commitment to ensuring a solid relationship with other Dental Students’ Associations across the country, the Unibadan Association of Dental Students paid a courtesy visit to her counterparts at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife on Saturday the 29th of June. The visiting team, led by the immediate past president of the association, Mr Fiyin Atinmo, included other members of 2023/24 executive council, members of the male football team, delegates across different levels, and members of the Dentatics Press. 

The two-hour journey to the ancient town of Ile-Ife began around 8 a.m. from Nasu Park, UCH. With positive feelings and favorable weather conditions, the trip was nothing short of flawless. As a pressman, I was particularly thrilled by the dedication of the association members. Despite their tight schedules, the financial commitment, and the sacrifice of their weekend after a long week, their enthusiasm for the initiative was inspiring.

The journey, filled with chatting, socializing, and, for some, sleeping, ended with a warm welcome from Miss Rahmat Oke, the IFUDSA president, and other members of the executive council at the Obafemi Awolowo University sports complex. This beautiful and well-structured complex later served as the venue for a friendly match between the two associations. The match concluded with a 5-2 defeat for the Unibadan Association of Dental Students' male football team.

Shortly after the game, food and small chops were served, and everyone dined with smiles on their faces. The visitors were then taken on a tour around the university campus, exploring the wonderful and well-known structures and buildings within Obafemi Awolowo University.

The tour eventually culminated in the transition from Ile-Ife back to Ibadan after spending more than six eventful hours visiting IFUDSA on their home soil. Memories were made, pictures were taken, and hopefully, lifelong and fruitful connections were forged.
