No Violence in Alexander Brown Hall

It's a new day in Alexander Brown Hall (ABH), as the fresh blood of the 2K24 class of medical students enters the mix. The transition has not been easy for both the old and incoming students. Many heated words were exchanged online, and threats were made well before moving day, especially between the 2K23 and 2K24 classes. Many expected the Defence Minister to have his hands full settling disputes. Come D-Day, and what did we see?

A bloody street? Medical students exchanging insults based on their vast knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and genetic diseases? A 2K24 vs. 2K23 war? Well, this writer is proud to report that none of that happened. Medical students comported themselves with the highest dignity, proving once again why they are exceptional.

The only words exchanged on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, were those of understanding and concessions. Deals were made, numbers were swapped, and boxes, chairs, beds, and fans were moved. Looking at the peaceful scenes, one would not believe these were the same keyboard warriors of two days ago. Whatever was said between the incoming 2K24 class and the residents they met in their newly allocated rooms will remain between them, but what is known is that the peace that has always existed in ABH will endure.

This whole incident just goes to show why the internet is a dangerous yet powerful tool. The day ended with football and a party. Classic ABH!

This writer offers the 2K24 class the warmest welcome to ABH and reminds them that in a not-so-distant future, they will be in the 2K23 class's position and hopes they uphold the standard the 2K23 has set: keep the conflicts to WhatsApp.
