CHARLES III IS CROWNED KING

King Charles III was crowned the King of United Kingdom and other 14 commonwealth countries in a grand and royal ceremony, yesterday, 6th May, 2023. The coronation of King Charles was the culmination of a long journey that began when Charles succeeded the throne on the 8th of September, 2022, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

After a period of mourning, King Charles was finally crowned in a ceremony that was marked by pomp, ceremony, and grandeur. The coronation of King Charles began with a procession that included members of the Royal Family, as well as leaders and dignitaries from the Commonwealth and other nations. The procession included a grand carriage, with the King and Queen sitting in the royal coach. As they made their way through the streets of London, they were greeted by hundreds of well-wishers who had gathered to witness the crowning.

The Archbishop of Archbishop Canterbury, Justin Welby officiated the ceremony, and the Queen Mother and other members of the Royal Family were in attendance including his wife, Camilla who was crowned alongside him, his sons, Prince William and his wife Kate, their kid 9-year-old Prince George made history as the youngest heir to ever take part in his predecessor’s ceremony, as he acted as page of honor for his grandfather and Prince Harry, with his wife in absentia. The King’s siblings and their partners were also in attendance.

King Charles was presented with the St Edward’s Crown, which was placed upon his head by the Archbishop. Following the crowning, the King and Queen were presented with gifts from the people of England, and the coronation was sealed with a 21-gun salute.

Notably, there has been mixed feelings about the coronation, with the whole of UK divided into two as some are giving their unshakeable support for the royal family and sending their warmest wishes to the newly crowned king, and the other part of UK are also raising their opinions on the woes of monarchy system. Nevertheless, it is expected that the royal event will supply a significant lift to the UK hospitality industry, which is only beginning to recover from the inflation caused by the Covid outbreak. Hotels, bars, restaurants, and BQs are filled to the brim as a lot of people flew from all over the world to witness the coronation.
