THE SMART MONEY WOMAN: A REVIEW
Most students think ‘money management issue’ can wait while they settle other aspects of life. Well, it’s high time we dropped that notion. Even in this current cashless state of the country, we deal with money every day and it is best we do it smart!
The Smart Money Woman is a book by Arese Ugwu that focuses on how to handle finances in a good way. The author has a B.Sc. in Business and Management, M.Sc. in Economic development, and has been engaged in many finance programs online. Her rich knowledge of finance management is displayed across the pages of the book as she brilliantly highlights financial nuggets in a pleasing story-based form.
The book concentrates on the lifestyle and finances of 5 friends with contemporary Lagos as the setting. The storyline zooms in on the female money culture, as the author ensures that she does not tell the finance tale using just one character’s money conduct and lifestyle, but multiple!
With the series of possible scenarios of human behaviour, the book offers all classes of readers including males, a chance of definitely gaining something as they turn the pages of the book.
How do you read a book when you do not understand the technical terms? I will tell you how; I close the book and go. But this book provides the definitions of financial terms at the end of each chapter which makes a reader quickly get familiar with them.
The Smart Money Woman book goes the extra mile to engage readers with exercises that enable them to pause, think, and make money-related actions. Almost like a workbook guiding readers to make proper money plans.
Other reviews see the book as the solution to financial illiteracy, but I see the book as a comprehensive foundation on finances that every reader should read before deciding whether to be the Richest man in Bauchi or in Babylon.
No one says you have to finish the book in a sitting. How about a chapter of this nice story each day, as you relax after classes letting the money lessons sink in? If the plan is to be financially wise and to be a Billionaire Onye ji cash(i) later on, I strongly recommend this book.
