Highlights From Dr. Omoniyi Indoor Games Day
The Dr. Omoniyi Indoor Games Day took place on July 13, 2025, at the Alexander Brown Hall quadrangle. The event featured various games, including table tennis, chess, ludo, fill the basket, egg race, sack race, and scrabble. Transportation was provided for preclinical students to and from the venue.

Round 1: Caleb Ogunbiyi ( 2k27 ) defeated Adesokan Emmanuel (2k24). Omotoso Kehinde(2k21) played Emmanuel Mounfolu (2k26) and won.
Round 2: Adesokan and Omotoso won rematches after switching positions against the same opponents.
In subsequent matches, Ogunbiyi Caleb defeated Benjamin Bomide (2k25) before losing in a rematch. In the match between Adesokan and Omotosho, Adesokan Emmanuel won playing both white and black.
Emmanuel Mounfolu (2k26 ) lost to Bomide Benjamin of the 2k25 class in the two games.
In the next round, Adesokan Emmanuel played against Emmanuel Mounfolu, while Kehinde faced Caleb. Caleb and Emmanuel emerged victorious in their respective games. Caleb then played against Emmanuel in the next round, while Adesokan faced Bomide. Caleb won first place, while Emmanuel Mounfolu lost his chance at second place due to two illegal moves. Adesokan won both games.
The final match between Caleb and Adesokan was a tiebreaker — a 3+0 blitz game. Caleb had the white pieces in the first game and lost by time. In the second, Adesokan Emmanuel won the game by resignation.
Table Tennis
Coordinated by Okpara Charles, the first round was played in a best-of-three format. Andrew ( 2k21) defeated Tobi(2k26) while Razaq defeated Abdullah(2k27). Habeeb progressed to the semi-finals on a walkover because the opponent was absent. Tobi later faced Abdullah for the best loser spot and won, knocking out 2k27. In the semifinals, Andrew beat Habeeb, while Tobi defeated Razaq. In a best-of-five final, Tobi played against Andrew and he pulled off a stunning remontada to win the gold medal - a comeback in every sense of the word.

There were no participants from the 2k23 class. Sabiqoh (2k27) won the gold medal, followed by Breakthrough (2k26) and Olanrewaju( 2k24).
Sack Race
The sack race was unfortunately cancelled to the loud dismay of quite a few.
The day ended with the final scrabble games. UADS and non-UADS members engaged in various other unofficial games. It was a day of lively competition and shared joy.
Ludo
In the first round, Onabajo Kehinde of the 2k24 class defeated Akomolafe Isreal. Oyeleke Oluwajomiloju was bested by Jaiyeola Christianah of the 2k25 class. In the second round, Oyeleke bounced back to beat Akomalafe Israel while Jaiyeola faced Kehinde — Kehinde won. Kudus Gbadamosi of the 2k21 class then defeated Oyeleke to advance to the finals. In the finals, Onabajo Kehinde secured the silver medal, while Kudus Gbadamosi, in a barrage of sixes, won gold.

Scrabble
In the opening round, Odetoki Raheemat played Adelekan Emmanuel, while Obikunle Daniella played Onyedikachi Ekere. The draw for matches allowed 2k23 to sit out the first round and play directly for the best loser. Raheemat and Ekere won their respective games. In the second round, Daniella, as the best loser, progressed to face Tari Sounyo. Meanwhile, the second game of the second round, between the 2k21 and 2k27 classes, progressed concurrently. Daniella and Ekere emerged victorious and faced off in the finals. Onyedikachi Ekere won gold while Ibikunle Daniella won silver.

Chess
The chess tournament was coordinated by Emmanuel. Rules included: forfeiture after two illegal moves, and players had to use the same hand to move pieces and tap the timer. A point-based scoring system( win —1, draw—0.5, and loss-0) 0with a 5+3 time control was used.
