New Year Tenure Review: Interview With The CODEH chairperson.
On the 22nd of December, 2025, the press had a brief discussion with the Chairwoman of the Committee on Dental Education and Health, Eunice Omotainse on progress with plans made in office. Below is a summary of the conversation.
CODEH, the Committee on Dental Education and Health at the University of Ibadan has been vibrant and highly productive due to its well structured subcommittees. Among the various subcommittes are:
The Content team which has created innovative materials, including four blog posts and video content such as Myths vs. Facts about Braces during the tenure. These are passed to the Publicity committee for wide dissemination, helping to build CODEH’s strong online presence and engagement.
The Research committee which is currently engaged in a project to advance the academic value of CODEH’s work. Different subgroups are working on different research projects.
The Planning and Logistics team, has played its role in non-collaborative events such as, the Glorious Liberty Outreach, which was primarily organized by CODEH. In summary, CODEH has participated in over ten outreaches this year, many in partnership with other organizations, delivering dental talks, check-ups and oral health awareness.
CODEH’s growth is evident in its increased membership and activity. As mentioned by the Chairperson, over sixty members were added this year surpassing the usual forty to fifty, with many actively participating.
Despite some limitations such as waiving a monthly meeting due to MB exams, each subcommittee’s consistency and impact through content creation, research, and community outreach have marked the tenure as one of growth and impactful progress.
