On June 8, 2024, Aremu Abass was elected as the Public Relations Officer for UADS. He was elected because he presented his plans for the office if elected and the members of the association were pleased with it.
Dentatics Press spoke with him to evaluate his constitutional and manifesto efficiency.
Optimization of LinkedIn Page
There has been work on the UADS LinkedIn page that has not materialized into posts yet but very soon, there will be a major rollout on the page.
Regular Weekly Publicity
There has yet to be commencement of weekly publicity across all social media pages. Introducing new content is taking longer than initially anticipated, this is to ensure sustainability. Routine MCM and WCM can become repetitive; new content will be released starting in January, 2025.
Collaboration with the Treasurer: Raising Awareness On Income Generation For The Association
Efforts to raise awareness for dues payment, and other UADS income generating avenues have been hindered. This is due to unforeseen circumstances, primarily a faulty phone that had been malfunctioning for several months until a solution was found shortly before ABH's fumigation break. Collaboration with the Treasurer is ongoing, and improvements are expected. However, the UADS Rentals and Zoom accounts have been doing quite well in generating revenue for the association. Credit for this achievement goes to the Treasurer and the Special Duty Officer, who effectively manages the Zoom account.
Collaboration with the Assistant General Secretary: Updating The UADS Members' Database
The database has been updated, and this includes the name, class, email address, date of birth, and matric number of each member.
Rebranding Mavericks Quiz Club Logo
The Mavericks Quiz Club has been engaging in some activities since the President, Miss Eunice Timothy, first came into office, also bearing in mind that her class had a professional exam at the start of the tenure. She stated that all of these, in addition to recruitment and organizing group activities, will not allow her to be able to work as effectively on it as she would have liked. But once activities settle down there, work will commence on the rebranding of the club's logo.
Summus X and Dental Digest
A summus X committee is already in place for compilation and it has started working on preparing to take submissions for this tenure edition. For Dental Digest, the plan is to ensure that it comes with unarguable quality. The best candidates have been selected for members of the Editorial board. Several bodies within and outside the university have been contacted for partnership purposes. Within the university, outreach to other organizations has been made to obtain articles for inclusion in the edition. This aims to increase awareness to other students in other faculties. Similar efforts are being made to collaborate with other DSAs. Names of potential partners cannot be disclosed yet, pending feedback from several organizations. Once arrangements have been finalized, Calls for Article submissions will be released.
Incentives Review For UADS Designers
A review of incentives was conducted to improve overall benefits for UADS designers. Some of these incentives will be given out later in the tenure.
