Farida Oladejo is a 4th year Dental Student. She is an embodiment of a lot of virtues, even while maintaining her status as a student. She loves volunteering, and she has served in many capacities all through her years of studentship. Although Farida is a well-known leader, she doesn’t really have keen interest in politics as it appears on the surface. She prefers to watch movies and series (with preference to Sitcoms and K-drama), travel, hang out with friends, and read more fiction books and little of non-fiction like the autobiographies of Trevor Noah (Born a Crime) and Malcolm X. 

Alluding to her leadership proficiency and robust portfolio, Farida has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Dentatics Preclinical Press, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dentatics Press, Chairperson of the Academic Committee of Muslim Students’ Society, Financial Secretary of Queens Hall Muslim Students’ Society, Oyo State Welfare Representative (The Neo Life Child Initiative), and an Honourable in the Alexander Brown Hall Assembly, representing Faculty of Dentistry. 

Farida Oladejo is the current President of JCI, UI and her journey to the seat of Presidency is fascinating. Her passion for development piqued her interest in the activities of JCI prior to her admission into UI, and she joined in her first year in 2018. She was awarded the most promising inductee, and later went ahead to become the Director of Convention and then the General Secretary. 

Farida enjoyed her preclinical years, and they were specifically years of grooming for her. She believes clinical studies have been more interesting, and also understands that she has passion for Medicine, even though clinical school is more demanding and challenging. 

To let off steam, Farida watches TikTok and YouTube, reads novels, and binges series like Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Suits. She has once represented Faculty of Dentistry at the Interfaculty football competition where her team got to the quarter finals. To crown it all, Farida is a Tech enthusiast, and she’s currently exploring the world of Product Design and Data Analysis.
