MBBS/BDS Class Of 2023 Lit Ibadan With Melodies & Blues

Saturday was all fun and laughs at the New Culture Studios, Mokola, Ibadan where the University of Ibadan MBBS and BDS Class of 2023 held her novel event, Melodies and Blues. 

Melodies and Blues was not just about celebrating the class, it also showcased the many talents from class members. The event also featured a movie premier as well. 

The well decorated venue of the event almost got disrupted by the downpour as the weather changed its course. Out of the ingenuity of the class, they were able to salvage the situation by creating a makeshift venue and proceed with their original programme. 

The sold-out event which had in attendance over two hundred people also featured a lot of performances from both members of the class and outsiders, games and an award ceremony. 

The last activity from the day was the movie premier, a first in the history of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. The movie titled “The Last Straw” has members of the class as the cast. It was written and directed by Shalom Kene Okafor. The movie is a tale of bitter sweet infatuations, rebellion and crash-landing revolved around the bizarre choices of young adults and the consequences which abound. 

The well graced event had in attendance the UADS President,  Efunkunle Olalekan; UIMSA President, Olaoluwa Olorunfemi; UIMSA General Secretary, Nwagabara Jaachimma; UADS General Secretary, Somoye Victor; the former CODEH Chairperson, Abidemi Alabi and other members of the MBBDS 2k16 and 2k17 classes.
