UI Reopens Portal, Slams N7,500 Late Registration Fee

By David Adetula

The management of the University of Ibadan has said the institution portal will be reopened on Tuesday, June 1 till Thursday, June 3. This development is to allow students who are yet to register for the 2020/2021 session to do so.

In a statement published on the university's website today and signed by the school Regisrar, Mrs Olubunmi O. Faluyi, it says that the "Management will not approve any further request for extension of registration after this time."

"This is to inform all students who are yet to register for the 2020/21 session that Management has graciously approved that the registration portal be re-opened, to allow such students register for courses.

"The portal will be re-opened on Tuesday, 01 June to Thursday, 03 June. A late registration fee of seven thousand five hundred naira only (N7,500.00) will be paid.

"Please note that Management will not approve any further request for extension of registration after this time."

Before now, some students have complained and written letters to the IT department of the institution to request for the reopening of the school portal so that they can pay their school fees, Health Professional Training Level (for College of Medicine students) and register their courses. The reasons given by these affected students range from inability to access their portal page to financial constraints amongst other reasons.
